TYPE OF INCIDENT: Fatal Pedestrian and Vehicle Collision
OCCURRED: 12/21/2011 at 1802 hours
LOCATION OF OCCURRENCE: 1200 Jamacha Rd. El Cajon
RESUME OF INCIDENT:
At approximately 6:02 pm on Wednesday December 21, 2011 El Cajon Police Officers and Fire Paramedics responded to reports of a pedestrians being struck by a vehicle in the roadway of the 1200 block of Jamacha Rd. in El Cajon. The 20 year old driver of the white Nissan Sentra that struck the pedestrian stopped immediately after the collision and is cooperating with Traffic Investigators. A passerby who had heard the accident also stopped and attempted to render first aid until Paramedics arrived. Fire Paramedics arrived and the pedestrian was pronounced deceased at the scene a short time later.
This investigation is ongoing and information about the victim is not being released pending family notification.

The 1200 block of Jamacha has been closed for several hours as a result of this collision but is now open for both north and southbound traffic.
