El Cajon Police Department Promotes New Captain

Jeff Davis has been with the City of El Cajon Police Department for over 27 years as both a volunteer and employee. He volunteered with the department in 1984 as a Reserve Police Officer and was hired by the City in 1986 as a regular Police Officer. Jeff has served in all divisions of the Department working in Investigations, Traffic and Training during which time he served as a training officer with the Regional Police Academy. Jeff was promoted to Sergeant in 2000 and Lieutenant in 2006. He has served with the Department’s Special Weapons and Tactics (S.W.A.T.) team for 22 years, ending his assignment as the team’s Commanding Officer.
Jeff and his wife Sandie have been married for 22 years and share their east county home with their son and daughter. Jeff is a long time east county resident, having attended El Capitan High School, Grossmont Community College and San Diego Christian College.
Jeff Davis was promoted to Captain effective December 13, 2011.
