TYPE OF INCIDENT:    Assault with a Deadly Weapon

LOCATION OF OCCURRENCE: 700 Jamacha




El Cajon – On Monday morning, shortly after midnight, El Cajon Police Officers responded to a radio call of a disturbance in the parking lot of the Junction Bar in the 700 block of Jamacha. When officers arrived they discovered several bar patrons detaining a male subject who had fired multiple rounds from a handgun. The subject was later identified as 29 year old El Cajon resident Cein Kelley. The patrons had dis-armed Kelley and held the handgun for police.
According to witnesses, Kelley was involved in an earlier argument while inside the bar. He left and returned a short time later armed with a revolver. Kelley confronted some bar patrons in the parking lot outside of the bar and fired several rounds. One of the rounds struck a 25 year old male who suffered a wound to his foot and was transported to the hospital. His injury is not life threatening.
Kelly was detained by bar patrons until police arrived and took custody of him. He was booked into county jail and the investigation into the incident is continuing.
