TYPE OF INCIDENT: Fatal Pedestrian and Vehicle Collision
OCCURRED: 10/13/2011 at 1950 hours
LOCATION OF OCCURRENCE: 600 Block of E. Washington Ave., El Cajon
RESUME OF INCIDENT:
At approximately 7:50 pm on Thursday October 13, 2011 El Cajon Police Officers and Fire Paramedics responded to a 911 call of a pedestrian being struck by a vehicle in the area of the 600 Block of E. Washington. The collision occurred in the roadway of the westbound lanes of E. Washington.
Preliminary indications based on witness statements are the victim and a companion were crossing the roadway wearing dark clothing, when the victim was struck by an oncoming pickup truck. The victim, believed to be a Middle Eastern female in her 40’s, suffered significant injuries and was pronounced deceased at the scene. The victim’s companion was not injured. This investigation is ongoing at this time and the identity of the victim will be released by the San Diego Conner’s Office pending the victim’s family being notified.
