Possession of Stolen Property Arrest

TYPE OF INCIDENT: Probation Search
DATE AND TIME OCCURRED: 1/25/11 8:45am
LOCATION OF OCCURRENCE: 9023 Campo Rd.
SUSPECT: Bruce Wayne Nelson, (10-18-88) Resident of Spring Valley
RESUME OF INCIDENT:
El Cajon Police Department burglary detectives conducted an early morning probation search of an apartment in the 9000 blk of Campo Rd. During the search two handguns were recovered. One handgun had been stolen during a burglary in the Fletcher Hills area of El Cajon. The other handgun had altered serial numbers. Three people in the apartment were detained. It was determined Bruce Wayne Nelson (10-18-88) had been in possession of both handguns. He was arrested for possession of stolen property and possession of a gun with altered serial numbers. He was booked into San Diego County Jail.
Additional suspected stolen property was recovered from the apartment. The investigation is continuing to locate the owners.
