TYPE OF INCIDENT: Burglary Arrest
DATE AND TIME OCCURRED: January 12, 2011, 9:10 PM
LOCATION OF OCCURRENCE: 699 W. Washington, El Cajon
SUSPECT: Earl Evans, 7/9/92, National City Resident
RESUME OF INCIDENT:
On 1/12/11 at about 8:40 PM, the El Cajon Police Department received a 911 call regarding a burglary that had just occurred at 699 W. Washington. The suspect broke a side window of the residence and entered the home. As he walked through the house, he was confronted by the resident, and he ran away. Due to a language barrier, the first officers on the scene had a difficult time obtaining a description of the suspect. While these officers spoke to the victim, other officers moved into the area to search for the suspect.
Officer Tina Greer began searching a few blocks from the scene, on Patricia Lane. As she drove in the 300 block of Patricia, she noticed a male who discarded a red sweatshirt as he walked down the street. When Officer Greer turned around to contact the subject, he was gone. She got out of her police car and found him hiding under a parked vehicle. As she spoke to him, she noticed that he had cuts and blood on his hands. At about this same time, officers on the scene advised that the suspect was a black male wearing a red jacket, and that he may have cut himself because there was blood at the point of entry. The victim was driven to Officer Greer’s location, where the male was positively identified as the suspect in the burglary.
The suspect, Earl Evans, 7-9-92, was arrested for burglary, and was later booked into San Diego County Jail.
