LOCATION OF OCCURRENCE: Ronald Reagan Community Center 195 E. Douglas
RESUME OF INCIDENT:
The City of El Cajon will be holding a community forum this Saturday, November 13th. The forum will be hosted by the El Cajon Police Department at the Ronald Reagan Community Center from 10:00 AM until 12:00 PM. The forum will give members of the community an opportunity to ask questions about their police department, as well as other city services. In addition to police officials, representatives from Traffic Engineering, Code Enforcement and the Recreation Department will be present to address issues facing the community.
This community forum is an outstanding opportunity for community members of all ages to meet and interact with police. There will be demonstrations by the SWAT and K-9 teams as well as the forensic laboratory. The City of El Cajon Recreation Department will have a children’s activity area staffed with Recreation Department employees so families can attend the forum. Not only will there be games and activities for children in this area, but a 911 For Kids presentation will be given, which will teach children about calling 911.
Chief Pat Sprecco has described the forum as an opportunity for community members to share their concerns and discuss enforcement strategies with fellow community members and the police. In addition to the opportunity to ask questions about city services, an informative presentation on identity theft will be given during the event. Outstanding members of the community will also be recognized for their efforts in making El Cajon a safe place to live and shop. Working together, the City of El Cajon and citizens can overcome the causes of crime.
