DATE AND TIME OCCURRED: July 2, 2010, 10:40 am


LOCATION OF OCCURRENCE: 495 N. 2nd Street, El Cajon


SUSPECT: Moses Jovid Muhammad, 56 Years, El Cajon Resident
      Aka: Larry David Lewis
      Aka: Lawrence Odile

RESUME OF INCIDENT:

As previously reported, Officer Nick Sprecco was confronted by a subject armed with a knife, who had previously attacked others in the area of 495 N. 2nd Street. The suspect was shot after he refused to put down the weapon and advanced on the officer.

Early this morning, the suspect died as a result of his injuries. He has been identified as Moses Jovid Muhammad, 56 years, of El Cajon. Release of this information was delayed until notification could be made to family members.

Investigators from the El Cajon Police Department and the San Diego County District Attorney’s Office are conducting the investigation.
