SUSPECT: 17-year-old male
RESUME OF INCIDENT:
On March 22, 2010 at 2:30 PM, the El Cajon Police Department received 911 calls regarding a stabbing that had just occurred outside Parkway Plaza at 415 Fletcher Parkway. Officers went to the scene and found the 19-year-old victim with stab wounds to his side and arm. The victim was transported to the hospital by ECFD paramedics where he was admitted for observation, and is in stable condition.
The victim told officers that he was getting in his car when he was approached by the suspect. The suspect threatened the victim with a knife and demanded money. The victim turned over an undetermined amount of money and was stabbed. The reasons for the suspect stabbing the victim after being given money are unknown at this time.
Security officers saw the suspect run from the scene and followed him while relaying information to the police department. The suspect jumped over a wall into the lot of a business at 550 Fesler. Officers arrived at this address about one minute later and were directed to the area where the suspect had last been seen. Officers entered this lot and found the suspect hiding under a vehicle. He was taken into custody, and later transported to Juvenile Hall.
