TYPE OF INCIDENT: Assault with a Deadly Weapon

DATE OCCURRED: February 6, 2010 at approximately 6:50am
         
LOCATION OF OCCURRENCE: The Ha’Penny Inn, 1549 E. Main, El Cajon

LOCATION OF ARREST:   N/A

SUSPECT: Black male adult, clean shaven, early 20’s, 5-8 to 5-9, medium build, neck length braided hair. Last seen wearing what witnesses described as a black Versace leather jacket, white long plain t-shirt and jeans.

RESUME OF INCIDENT:
The police department received a 911 call from one of the rooms at the Ha’ Penny Inn, 1549 E. Main Street, indicating that someone had been shot and needed paramedics. When officers arrived they located the victim who had sustained two gun shot wounds (arm & leg). The suspect had fled the scene prior to police arrival and his whereabouts are unknown. The victim was transported to the hospital by paramedics.

According to witnesses, the suspect and victim may know each other and were possibly involved in an altercation in the court yard of the hotel prior to the shooting. The victim is in stable condition and his injuries are not considered life threatening.

There is very limited information at this time and the investigation is continuing. The identity of the suspect is unknown.
