TYPE OF INCIDENT: Assault with a Deadly Weapon
DATE AND TIME OCCURRED: October 15, 2009, 10:30 PM
LOCATION OF OCCURRENCE: Graves/Madison, El Cajon
SUSPECT: Undetermined
RESUME OF INCIDENT:
On October 15, 2009, at about 10:30 PM, the El Cajon Police Department received 911 calls regarding a disturbance in the 200 block of W. Park. When officers arrived, they found that the individuals involved in the disturbance were gone.
While en route to the call on W. Park, Officer Hummel was driving west bound on Madison at Graves. As he approached the intersection, he saw a male being chased by a second individual. He noticed that the first person was bleeding profusely, and the second person was also injured. As Officer Hummel contacted these individuals, the first collapsed, apparently as a result of his injuries. Both were suffering from stab wounds, and were transported to local hospitals for treatment.
A short time later, another 911 call came in regarding a third stabbing victim. This victim was also transported to the hospital. It was determined that all three subjects had been involved in the original disturbance in the 200 block of W. Park. They all went to the area of Madison and Graves, where the stabbings occurred.
The exact cause of the disturbance that resulted in these stabbings is unknown at this time. The investigation is continuing. Any witnesses are encouraged to contact the El Cajon Police Department at (619) 579-3311.
