SUSPECT: Sean Zahm - 46 years of age, El Cajon resident

RESUME OF INCIDENT:
On September 2, 2009 at approximately 9:20am, a subject robbed the Wells Fargo Bank located at 1235 Avocado. The suspect produced a demand note at which time the teller gave him an undisclosed amount of currency. The suspect went to an awaiting vehicle which fled the area. A witness made note of the vehicle’s license plate and provided this information to the police department.

Responding units observed the vehicle as it was pulling into the driveway of an apartment complex located at 1055 S. Mollison Ave., in El Cajon. Officers detained an adult female driver and the adult male passenger, later identified as the arrestee, Sean Zahm. Zahm was found in possession of the proceeds from the robbery, and was arrested.

Investigators from the El Cajon Police Department, as well as the FBI, were able to link Zahm to two other local bank robberies: The same Wells Fargo on July 21, 2009 and the Bank of America, 845 N. Second Street, on May 26, 2009.

The adult female who was detained, was determined not to be involved in any of the robberies, and was subsequently released.
