August 6, 2009
EL CAJON POLICE DEPT. - PRESS RELEASE INFORMATION SHEET TYPE OF INCIDENT: Aggressive Pit Bull
DATE: August 6, 2009
LOCATION OF OCCURRENCE: 500 Lincoln
An aggressive Pit Bull was eventually captured by El Cajon Police Officers after the dog threatened several passers by in the 500 block of Lincoln Ave. Officers Nick Sprecco, Sean Cawley and Ben Hogan, responded after citizens reported the Pit Bull was going after people in the neighborhood about 9 a.m. this morning. When the officers arrived, one citizen was using a shopping cart in an attempt to protect himself from the aggressive dog. The Pit Bull had earlier gone after a citizen walking his dog down the street. The dog became aggressive towards the officers, who were forced to use a taser to subdue the animal. The Pit Bull was then captured with the use of a catch pole and turned over to El Cajon Animal Control who will attempt to locate the dog’s owner. The officers demonstrated a great deal of restraint in capturing the aggressive Pit Bull without causing injury to the animal.
