EL CAJON POLICE DEPT. - PRESS RELEASE INFORMATION SHEET

TYPE OF INCIDENT:    Vehicle Collision Fatality

DATE:           Wednesday June 24, 2009

LOCATION OF OCCURRENCE: 200 W. Bradley





Wednesday evening at about 5 pm, members of the El Cajon Police and Fire Department responded to a vehicle collision in the 200 block of W. Bradley. Upon arriving at the scene of the collision police discovered a motorcycle had collided with a pick up. The motorcycle rider suffered severe injuries as a result of the collision and was transported to an area hospital where he passed away. The driver of the pick up did not suffer any injuries. West bound traffic on Bradley had to be diverted for about five hours while investigators examined the scene.

During the course of the ensuing investigation, El Cajon Police Traffic Investigators determined that the lone male motorcycle rider was traveling west on Bradley when he rear ended the pick up which was attempting to turn into a driveway. The motorcycle rider was wearing a helmet at the time of the collision and was riding a newer model sport bike.

The identity of the 30 year old motorcycle rider has not been released pending notification of family. The cause of this accident is under investigation by the El Cajon Police Department.
