LOCATION OF OCCURRENCE: 1022 Cajon Greens Drive, El Cajon

VICTIM: Robert Edward Downer, 82-years-old

VICTIM DESCRIPTION: White male, 5’9”, 160 lbs., Gry/Blk

RESUME OF INCIDENT:
On May 5, 2009, a neighbor of 82-year-old Robert Edward Downer called the El Cajon Police Department to report that she had not seen him for over three weeks. Officers were sent to check the welfare of Mr. Downer. When officers arrived they found that the house was secure and there were no cars in the driveway. When looking through a window, officers noticed that there was food left out on the counter that had started to spoil. Concerned for Mr. Downer’s welfare they made entry into the home. Mr. Downer was not located in his home and there were no signs of foul play.

During the subsequent investigation, it was determined that one of Mr. Downer’s vehicles, a 1995 maroon Chevrolet Lumina, CA License 3NOF507, had been towed from the Oak Oasis County Park located at 12620 Wildcat Canyon Road in Lakeside on April 9, 2009.

Mr. Downer is an 82 year old male. According to a family member, Mr. Downer has had some problems with his balance, but for the most part was in good health. It appears that he has taken hikes in the past due to items located in his home.

The San Diego County Sheriff’s Search and Rescue will be conducting a search of Oak Oasis Park and the surrounding area today.

If you have any information on the whereabouts of Mr. Robert Edward Downer, please contact Detective M. Barber at (619) 441-5596.
