RESUME OF INCIDENT:
On April 30, 2009, The El Cajon Police Department conducted an undercover operation targeting males soliciting acts of prostitution from women on the streets of El Cajon. The San Diego County Sheriff’s Department and the San Diego State University Police Department assisted with the operation. A total of eight individuals were arrested during the six-hour operation.
Upon conviction of prostitution related charges, arrestees may be placed on geographic probation. When a person is placed on geographic probation, they will be ordered to refrain from certain activities in specified areas of El Cajon. Members of the public may go to the El Cajon Police Department’s web site, www.elcajonpolice.org, to view photographs of individuals on geographic probation.
The El Cajon Police Department routinely conducts undercover prostitution enforcement targeting pimps, prostitutes and their customers. In addition to these undercover operations, officers are involved in on-going enforcement targeting individuals loitering with the intent to commit acts of prostitution. Operations such as this one will continue on a periodic basis.
