DATE AND TIME OCCURRED: Began in late October, 2008


LOCATION OF OCCURRENCE: The southeast portion of the City of El Cajon

SUSPECT: Unknown at this time


SUSPECT DESCRIPTION: N/A


RESUME OF INCIDENT: Since the latter part of October, 2008, there have been eight residential hot-prowl burglaries which occurred in the southeast portion of the City of El Cajon. These crimes all occurred during the late night or early morning hours and losses typically involve small, easily carried items, including purses and wallets. Entries into the victims’ homes have all been made via open or unlocked doors and windows. There is no suspect information at this time.

We are asking residents of El Cajon to be vigilant in minimizing their risk as victims. This includes closing and locking all doors and windows, ensuring all residential exterior lighting is functioning, and placing valuables in areas not easily seen by a prowler.
