RESUME OF INCIDENT:
On 1/1/2009 at about 10:15 AM, the El Cajon Police Department received a call to check the welfare of a subject at 532 Broadway #103. The caller stated that they had received a message from a family member which led them to believe that this person may have committed suicide. Officers responded to the address and gained entry to the apartment. Once inside, they made contact with a teenager who had been sleeping and was uninjured. The teenager advised that her mother and her mother’s live-in boyfriend were in their bedroom.
Officers entered the locked bedroom and found two bodies. The 33-year-old female had a single gunshot wound to the head and the 50-year-old male had an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head. The names of the deceased parties are being withheld pending notification of next of kin.
The investigation is continuing.
