Police Pursuit - Arrest

TYPE OF INCIDENT: Pursuit and arrest
DATE AND TIME OCCURRED: 12/16/08 @ 8:30 pm
LOCATION OF OCCURRENCE: Pomerado and Colony, San Diego
SUSPECT: Randy Lile, 48 yrs, Poway resident
RESUME OF INCIDENT: On 12/16/08 at approximately 8:30 pm El Cajon Police Officer Darrow was returning from San Diego County Jail when he spotted a vehicle speeding and driving erratically n/b Hwy 163 near Interstate 8. He attempted to pull the vehicle over however the driver failed to yield speeding up to approximately 80 mph.
Officer Darrow pursued this vehicle as it headed into North County. The Regional Communication System (RCS) aided Officer Darrow in coordination with SDPD ABLE helicopter and ground units who assisted in this pursuit. The suspect exited the freeway and his tires were “spike stripped” on Pomerado road. The suspect vehicle came to a stop at Pomerado & Colony where the driver was taken into custody with out incident.
The driver was charged with drunk driving and evading a police officer. He was later booked into county jail for those charges.
