TYPE OF INCIDENT: Vehicle pursuit involving stolen vehicle
OCCURRED 10/18/08
LOCATION OF OCCURRENCE: City of El Cajon
RESUME OF INCIDENT:
On 10/18/08 Officers of the El Cajon Police Department responded to the report of a vehicle driving recklessly in the area of Broadway and Mollison Ave. The Reporting Parting to this incident indicated the vehicle was stolen.
As officers responded to the area they located the vehicle and attempted to stop it. The vehicle fled from officers and a pursuit ensued. During the pursuit the vehicle entered onto westbound Interstate 8. An Officer was stopped on the right shoulder and the suspect vehicle veered towards the Officer’s vehicle striking it. The Officer suffered a complaint of pain as a result of the collision. The suspect was not injured.
The Officer’s and suspect’s names are not being released at this time as this investigation is on going.
