RESUME OF INCIDENT:
On September 30, 2008 the El Cajon Police Department’s Special Investigations Unit conducted an undercover operation targeting individuals involved in prostitution activity. A total of ten people were arrested as a result of the operation.
Upon conviction of prostitution related charges, arrestees may be placed on geographic probation. When placed on geographic probation, they will be ordered to refrain from certain activities in specified areas of El Cajon. Members of the public may go to the El Cajon Police Department web site, www.elcajonpolice.org, to view photographs of individuals on geographic probation.
In addition to the prostitution related arrests, detectives saw two individuals in a stolen vehicle. That vehicle was stopped and the subjects were taken into custody for auto theft.
The El Cajon Police Department routinely conducts undercover prostitution enforcement targeting pimps, prostitutes and their customers. Operations such as this one will continue on a periodic basis.
