SUSPECT DESCRIPTION: NA
RESUME OF INCIDENT:
Since the original press release regarding this case,
detectives have been in contact with a representative from
King Pharmaceuticals Inc. This is the pharmaceutical
company that produces Avinza, the prescription medication
the victim was given by Garza. While the 10-12 pills that
the victim was given caused his death, according to King
Pharmaceuticals the information stated in the first press
release, “more than two pills in a 24-hour period can be
fatal,” may have been incorrect. This statement was based
on information provided to detectives by the doctor who
wrote the prescription for the pills.
Individuals who currently have a prescription for Avinza
and have concerns over their dosage should contact their
doctor.
