RESUME OF INCIDENT:

On Thursday, July 10, 2008, the El Cajon Police Department
published a news release of an attempted kidnapping that
allegedly occurred on July 9, 2008, in the 600 block of
South First St., in El Cajon. We have since learned that
the facts in this case may have been misrepresented to the
initial reporting officer(s). During our subsequent follow
up investigation with the reporting parties, we have
learned that the elements of an attempted kidnapping are
not present and the new information disclosed to
investigators leads us to believe the incident did not
occur as related in the original press release. We are no
longer seeking to identify the previously listed suspect or
vehicle.
