TYPE OF INCIDENT: Armed Robbery
DATE AND TIME OCCURRED: April 10, 2008; 0221 hours
LOCATION OF OCCURRENCE: 700 Avocado Blvd. El Cajon
BUSINESS NAME: Thrifty Gas
SUSPECT: Joseph Lee McDonald 23 years.
Dizear Beck 25 years.
Rashad Marquis McDonald 19 years.
SUSPECT DESCRIPTION:
RESUME OF INCIDENT:
Two of the suspects entered the Thrifty Gas station at 700
Avocado in El Cajon. They displayed handguns and demanded
the cash from the register. After the clerk gave them the
money, they fled the store to a waiting car, driven by the
third suspect. Sgt. Zmijewski was in the area when the
call of the robbery was dispatched. He saw a vehicle
leaving the area at a high rate of speed. He caught up to
the vehicle and made a traffic stop. The driver ran from
the car. The other two suspects were arrested before they
could run. The driver was later arrested a short distance
away.
