SUSPECT DESCRIPTION:
RESUME OF INCIDENT:
On April 3, 2008, detectives from the El Cajon Police
Department’s Special Investigations Unit were conducting an
investigation into possible drug sales activity at 901
Leslie Road in El Cajon. Upon making contact with the
occupant of the home, Ryan Derrick Nelson, 11-28-80, he
admitted to possession of marijuana, but refused to allow
detectives into the house. Because detectives had reason
to believe that there were illegal drugs inside the house,
and believed that Nelson was in involved in drug sales,
they secured the residence and obtained a search warrant.
Upon entering the residence, detectives found a
sophisticated indoor marijuana cultivation operation.
There were 55 plants in various stages of growth found,
along with packaging materials and marijuana packaged for
sales. Detectives found additional evidence of drug sales
activity, including almost $10,000.00 in cash.
Nelson was arrested cultivation of marijuana and possession
of marijuana for sales.
