DATE AND TIME OCCURRED: 3-27-08, 9:00 PM 
 
 
LOCATION OF OCCURRENCE: 1200 E. Main, El Cajon

SUSPECT: Jesse John Garcia, DOB – 4/4/78 
 
 
SUSPECT DESCRIPTION: Hispanic Male, 5-09, 240, Black hair, 
brown eyes 
 
 
RESUME OF INCIDENT:  
 
On 3-27-08 at about 9:00 PM, the 24-year-old female victim 
got off a bus in the 1200 block of E. Main Street. She was 
approached by a man who began speaking to her. She tried 
to walk away, at which time the suspect put a knife to her 
throat and threatened to kill her. He forced the victim 
into his vehicle and drove her to a secluded area, where he 
raped her. After the rape, the suspect stole the victim’s 
purse and released her. 
 
The incident was reported to the El Cajon Police Department 
and a description of the suspect was broadcast to officers 
on patrol. At about 11:30 PM, ECPD Officer S. Breakall 
stopped a vehicle matching the description of the suspect 
vehicle in the 500 Block of E. Washington. The driver of 
the vehicle was identified as Jesse John Garcia, 4-4-78 of 
Palmdale, CA. Because he matched the description of the 
suspect in the rape, Officer Breakall contacted the officer 
who was handling the report of the rape. The victim was 
brought to Garcia’s location where she positively 
identified him as the suspect who kidnapped and raped her. 
 
Garcia was arrested and booked into county jail for 
Kidnapping, Rape and other charges. Detectives are 
contacting other local law enforcement agencies in an 
attempt to identify similar cases. If members of the 
public have information on Garcia or any similar crimes, 
they are encouraged to contact El Cajon Police Detective
