TYPE OF INCIDENT: Fatal Trolley Accident
DATE AND TIME OCCURRED: March 14, 2008; 1153 hours
LOCATION OF OCCURRENCE: Billy Mitchell Crossing
BUSINESS NAME: N/A
SUSPECT: N/A
SUSPECT DESCRIPTION: N/A
RESUME OF INCIDENT:
At 1153 hours a white pickup truck collided with a south
bound trolley at the Billy Mitchell crossing. The solo
female driver of the truck was pronounced dead at the
scene. The accident is being investigated by the El Cajon
Police Department and MTS officials. Trolley service to the
east section of the line will be interrupted for several
hours. Patrons that normally use the trolley are
encouraged to find alternate means if possible. The final
stop will be the Arnele Station. MTS will be providing bus
service to the Cuyamaca stop.
