Investigators from the El Cajon Police Department have
identified a possible burglary series occurring in the
Fletcher Hills area of El Cajon. There have been eight
residential burglary cases between January 8 and February
28 that may be related. All of the burglaries have
occurred during the daytime while residents were away from
home. The loss in each of the cases included small items
such as cash and jewelry that could be easily carried by
the suspects, sometimes in pillowcases. The suspects
usually entered the homes through unlocked doors or
windows.

Officers are aware of these cases and have increased
patrols in the Fletcher Hills area, but the police
department needs the assistance of members of the
community. Residents should always lock their doors and
windows and be aware of activity in their neighborhoods.
If individuals are seen acting suspiciously, people are
encouraged to call the police department so we can identify
these people, and possible stop them from committing a
crime.

If anyone has information on the recent burglaries, they
should contact Detective Bob Wining at (619) 441-1590. For
information on how to combat crime in your neighborhood,
please contact the El Cajon Police Department’s Crime
Prevention Officer, Dan Hanson at (619) 441-1597.
